Dear Parents and Cubs
Firstly a big Thank You to all of your who have put their names down to help with running
of the cubs. If you have not yet put your names down then please do. Sarah and Joanne
helped with the chocolate making last week and I think everyone had a great time. The
extra help meant that the evening was far less messy than last year – even though Sarah
and Joanne didn’t believe it!
We again hope to enter a team for the Football competition. Simon Avery and Sandy
Saunders have kindly agreed to coach our team to victory. Practice will be at 10:30am to
12noon on Sunday 2nd and Sunday 9th March at the Warsash Recreation Ground in
Osborne Road and the competition is at 1:30pm to 4:30pm on 16th March at the Crofton
Manor School, Mancroft Avenue in Stubbington . If all goes according to plan, all cubs
who attend the practice sessions will get a chance to play in the competition.
If you have not yet paid up then please do AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Subs remain at
£10 and annual Capitation is £22.50, cheques made payable to 1st Warsash Wight Pack
Fareham Leisure Centre Sports Evening was again a great success – even though it once
again proved how unfit Baloo is and how bad he is at roller skating!
A couple of weeks ago Adam’s mum noticed that he came home with the wrong cub
jumper. As his is a new one and the one he came home with is well used he is
Understandably keen to get his back. Neither jumper had a name tag (which emphasize
the importance of ensuring that all of your cub’s property is properly labeled). Please
check that your cub’s jumper has not miraculously been rejuvenated.
It is unfortunate for the Cubs that after three years, Akela is shortly to start a new
course with work which means that he will have to resign as leader very soon. We need
to quickly find a new leader or cubs will have to be wound up. So if there is any
possibility that you could put yourself forward as a leader then please think about it and
let us know.
Yours Faithfully
